New York State – An off duty state trooper, John Vescio was just pumping some gas last week when the unthinkable happened. A 69 year old man lost control of his car and crashed into the gas pump John had been using.
“I went to look up and to see what was going on and the next thing I knew the pump was coming down on top of me,” Vescio said.
Immediately you can see John running away but after he figures out what happened he runs back to the crashed car and rescues the unconscious driver seconds before the car blows up in flames.
“I got the door open but I could see the actual compartment was compressed,” Vescio told NBC New York. “His legs were tucked under the seat and his seatbelt was on, he was pretty much helpless.”
Police later found out the driver had a diabetic incident which caused the accident. There were 6 other people injured but none life-threatening
