She refuses to use any materials that have toxic properties. It does not mention the exact mediums she uses for each although I did manage to find to that she used cold porcelain clay, air drying polymer, a wire armature and glass for the eyes of the octopus.
Ellen explains on her site that she draws inspiration from natural forms and feels that plants and animals are ingrained deep into the foundations of culture, sustenance, and identity.
