New Ultraviolet Sun Images From NASA Are Stunning

Some new images being released by NASA’s recently launched solar dynamics laboratory are turning heads. Nearly 10x better than high definition television. Scientists are finding out new dynamic processes of the sun like never before. Some of the images in extremely high resolution, show the surface of the sun and solar flares closer than ever before. The images show a broad range of extreme ultraviolet wavelengths.

The images in before are being taken by the SDO spacecraft launched back in Feb. 11, 2010. The SDO is the most advanced spacecraft ever designed to study the sun. During its five-year mission, it will examine the sun’s magnetic field and also provide a better understanding of the role the sun plays in Earth’s atmospheric chemistry and climate.
